Weekly spread June 3-9 2019

For the week of June 3 - 9 2019, I decided to go with a sort of nautical theme. I used a sticker set from Eclectic Emily that I bought a couple of years ago.  I love the pale yellow striped washi tape that I paired the stickers with.  I had to leave quite a bit of white space for notes this week.

Do you like this theme? I really enjoy the stripes connecting everything together.

Weekly Spread May 27 - June 2 2019

For this week,  I decided to go with a hot pink and black palette.  Since Monday is Memorial Day, I wanted to include some stars. I like how it turned out!

What colors did you use for this week's layout?

Happy Planner Micro Notes

I am in love with the Happy Planner micro notes! So I made it into a list book with tabs.

I used pretty business cards and some hard cardboard packaging that I saved, to reinforce the first page of each section.

I use it a lot and love it! How do you use your Happy Planner notes? Leave a comment below and let us know!

Squad application preparations

I am so excited!!
We were only given a week to get our Happy Planner® squad applications ready and my heart is beating so fast with anticipation. I have so many things to prepare.

The application has four different sections that need to be completed:

  1. Personal information - the usual: name, birth date, email address, and home address.
  2. Essay questions - here they ask you to tell them about yourself! There are three questions: A.Why do you think you’d be a good fit for The Happy Planner® SQUAD? B.) How have you used your Happy Planner® to enrich your life? C.) What do you love most about The Happy Planner®? Then they ask what 'style' of planner you are: functional, decorative, hybrid, or something else.
  3. Social media links - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Website/Blog. And then they ask if there is anything else you would like to share with them.
  4. Photo's - There are four types of photo's they want you to submit: #beforethepen, #afterthepen, #realhappyplanner, #otherphotos.
They also give a few photo tips! Here is what they say:
Photo tips:
Showcasing our product and your beautiful work is important to us! Here are a few tips for your photos!
  • Make sure your photos are branded and HAPPY. We suggest that only Happy Planner® products are in your spreads for your Happy Planner® photo submissions. This does not apply to lifestyle accessories in your shot, such as personal and unrelated planner products.
  • Allow your Happy Planner® spread to POP! Be aware of background color as well as minimal props. Allow the product to stand out and speak for itself.
  • Try not to compromise the quality of the photo by overexposing to try and gain contrast for an even “whiter background.”
  • When taking photos, it’s helpful to have natural lighting and minimal to no shadows. Try not to overexpose your photos with harsh filters. Oh, and we always love a good SQUARE crop.

The applications are also open to teens and international planners this year. How cool is that?!

So today, while I was working, I started thinking about my answers for the application. It doesn't seem to be very difficult and I am ready to fill that section out now. *whew*

At least I have one part almost completed. But I need to get a move on - submissions must be presented on (or before) Monday, May 20th. Today is already the 15th, I need to get a move on. Wish me luck!

My planner journey.

Hello and welcome to my blog "Plan.Do.Repeat".

I have decided to take you along on my planner journey. It's already been quite an experience and will probably have a few more interesting twists and turns before I'm through.

My history with planners is varied and full of fun! I started out making lists on spiral notebooks from the time that I could write. I did that for about 40 years. Yep, that long.

In the last 10 years, I began using some really interesting pre-made planners and travelers notebooks. I used metal rings (all sizes), plastic discs, notebooks (including travelers notebooks and composition notebooks), spiral bound, bullet journals, many Japanese styles, and even created my own junk journals out of various materials.

I also tried quite a few 'types' of planning - minimalist (using only pen and paper), utilizing stickers (from just a few to the 'no white' cover all), stamping, stencils, pretty (using mostly pinks and lots of sparkles!), and rustic (which included chalk paint and lace).

And I didn't stop there! I planned in different directions, too. LOL I tried vertical, horizontal, sideways, and in various odd angles and shapes.

All of these types of planning made me happy! Every single one.

Then, a few months ago I started re-organizing my art studio and found quite a few MAMBI (Me and my BIG Ideas) Happy Planners, accessories, and sticker books tucked away for safe keeping. And... I found out that they  had released new Happy Planner/Notes sizes. Perk! I was so excited!

Was it really possible to have my fav planner and be able to customize it, too? YES!

Then I found out about the Happy Planner Squad through watching YouTube planning videos. And realized that MAMBI was getting ready to pick a whole new squad in a week. Wait, what??? This is all happening way too fast.

I was telling my hubby about all of this and he asked if I was applying and I said no.
Well, he talked me into it. haha

So I am starting this blog to track my experiences with the Happy Planner Squad AND to share my planning style for folks that are new to planning.

Hopefully I'll make a few friends along the way, too. :)
