I am so excited!!
We were only given a week to get our Happy Planner® squad applications ready and my heart is beating so fast with anticipation. I have so many things to prepare.
The application has four different sections that need to be completed:
- Personal information - the usual: name, birth date, email address, and home address.
- Essay questions - here they ask you to tell them about yourself! There are three questions: A.) Why do you think you’d be a good fit for The Happy Planner® SQUAD? B.) How have you used your Happy Planner® to enrich your life? C.) What do you love most about The Happy Planner®? Then they ask what 'style' of planner you are: functional, decorative, hybrid, or something else.
- Social media links - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Website/Blog. And then they ask if there is anything else you would like to share with them.
- Photo's - There are four types of photo's they want you to submit: #beforethepen, #afterthepen, #realhappyplanner, #otherphotos.
They also give a few photo tips! Here is what they say:
Photo tips:Showcasing our product and your beautiful work is important to us! Here are a few tips for your photos!
- Make sure your photos are branded and HAPPY. We suggest that only Happy Planner® products are in your spreads for your Happy Planner® photo submissions. This does not apply to lifestyle accessories in your shot, such as personal and unrelated planner products.
- Allow your Happy Planner® spread to POP! Be aware of background color as well as minimal props. Allow the product to stand out and speak for itself.
- Try not to compromise the quality of the photo by overexposing to try and gain contrast for an even “whiter background.”
- When taking photos, it’s helpful to have natural lighting and minimal to no shadows. Try not to overexpose your photos with harsh filters. Oh, and we always love a good SQUARE crop.
The applications are also open to teens and international planners this year. How cool is that?!
So today, while I was working, I started thinking about my answers for the application. It doesn't seem to be very difficult and I am ready to fill that section out now. *whew*
At least I have one part almost completed. But I need to get a move on - submissions must be presented on (or before) Monday, May 20th. Today is already the 15th, I need to get a move on. Wish me luck!
